Case Studies
    Design District Magazine
To improve on image perception problems, increase overall sales and establish the Miami Design District as a destination for art collectors, design enthusiasts and fashionistas, we created Design District Magazine.  The magazine is an in-depth look into the Miami Design District, the current happenings and the need-to-know  information that their customers are looking for.  The focus is on art, design, fashion and entertainment.
 
 

The premiere issue launched December 1, 2006.  We were able to display the anchor stores to show the upscale atmosphere of the neighborhood and also cover a wide variety of furniture showrooms, art galleries, local fashion and restaurants.  There have been numerous testimonies of increased sales, focus groups have determined that the image perception has dramatically improved and we are continually in constant communication with the customers and target audience.

 
  All content from Design District Magazine is also published on the website www.designdistrictmag.com as well as the comprehensive map & directory.  The website is completely optimized for search engines for the relevant keywords.
 
  In addition to the magazine and website, The Aston Group also manages a monthly newsletter which contains need-to-know information about Miami Design District events and happenings and delivers it directly marketed via email to the target audience.
 
Design District Magazine is part of a complete integrated custom marketing program created by The Aston Group in conjunction with the Miami Design District Marketing Council.  This program includes the magazine, website, newsletter, Facebook, Twitter and event marketing.  In addition to our custom publishing efforts, we have also created a monthly Art + Design Night (2nd Saturday of every month) and two branded annual district events.  These events are Design District Fashion Weekend and Design District Design Show.
 
   
 
 
  ART New Orleans Magazine
With the primary objective of positioning the New Orleans Arts District as the authority on art in New Orleans, we created ART New Orleans Magazine.  From artists to photographers, galleries to museums, festivals to fine dining, novice to aficionado, there is something for everyone in Art New Orleans Magazine.
 
ART New Orleans Magazine was able to compile a wide variety of important art from the New Orleans Arts District.  The comprehensive map & directory was also presented in a format that the local hotel concierge's greatly appreciated and would actually present to tourist visiting New Orleans.  Previously the New Orleans Arts District brochures were being discarded.

With the objectives of once again establishing SOHO New York as a destination for art collectors, design enthusiasts and fashionistas, we launched
SOHO Design Magazine.  The publication focuses on art, design, fashion and entertainment.  It also
provides a comprehensive map & directory to help consumers navigate.
 
The premiere issue launched in October 2009 and is published bi-annually in the Spring and Fall.  We presented the image of an upscale yet hip, edgy neighborhood and covered a wide variety of furniture showrooms, art galleries, local fashion and restaurants.  There have been numerous testimonies of increased sales, focus groups have determined that awareness has increased substantially among those within the target audience and we are continually in constant communication.

  Avenues of Art & Design West Hollywood Magazine
To create awareness for the Avenues of Art & Design West Hollywood and also provide a comprehensive map & directory to help consumers navigate their way through the district we published
Avenues of Art & Design West Hollywood Magazine, which focuses on the neighborhood's art, design, fashion and entertainment.
 
The premiere issue launched May 1, 2008 just prior to the 3rd Annual Tables of Ten - Dining for a Cause Event on Friday, May 30 and the 11th Annual Art & Design Walk on Saturday, May 31.  The publication was very well received by both merchants and local hotel concierge.  Testimonials were exceptional and the publication was able to create much needed awareness for the neighborhood brand.

  Luxury Condo Guide
With the goal of positioning itself as an industry leader in a fiercely competitive South Florida real estate market, The Condo Company launched Luxury Condo Guide. Targeted to upscale condominium owners in South Florida, the publication is a resource for luxurious home décor and real estate development.
In addition to the image perception boost for The Condo Company, ad sales covered publishing costs by the 2nd issue and the condo listings generated a significant growth in revenue.

The magazine, now titled Luxury Condo Living, became such an effective marketing tool that it is now offering advertising to other real estate companies in conjunction with its superior internet platform at www.CondoCompany.com.

  DCOTA Design Guide
To create additional awareness for its major events, DCOTA (Design Center of the Americas in Dania Beach, FL) produced DCOTA Design Guide to promote the design center and coincide with the events calendar. The first issue was a success for awareness, utility and sales lead generation. 

The design center was sold to a new real estate company who handles all directory publications in house. DCOTA Design Guide is no longer published.

  UR Home
One of The Miami Herald's specialized products called StreetMiami wanted to create an annual real estate supplement to increase awareness about the urban real estate market and provide marketers with an effective medium to reach their target. The publication was coined the Urban Magazine for Real Estate, Interior Design and Furnishings.
 

UR Home was successful in achieving both objectives.  The Miami Herald discontinued publication of StreetMiami the following year.
